Remnants vs. Selwyn College

Thursday, June 13, 1996
Selwyn College

Selwyn College (105 all out in 15.4 6-ball overs)
lost to
Remnants (107/3 in 1?.? 6-ball overs)
by 7 wickets.

Remnants headed off to the darkest - or at least most southerly - corner of Cambridge today to take on a Selwyn College side on their expansive home ground in Newnham. We produced a fantastic all-round bowling performance, with Tony Malik (3/23), Richard Wilson (3/25) and Pete Young (3/17) all having great success and Mark Burrows (1/38) also getting a wicket, albeit at a little more cost. Having dismissed the opposition inside 16 (six-ball) overs it seemed victory would be a formality, although two quick wickets had us thinking again. Fortunately cool heads Mike Sneyd (50*) and Dave Williams (40) compiled a rock-solid partnership, and we won comfortably with seven wickets still in hand.
