Billy (50* retired off 55 balls) and Samson (36 off 34 balls) put on 95 for the first wicket in 10 (eight-ball) overs, but then it all went south. Granta restricted Remnants to 119/4 from the full 14 despite only fielding 8 players. Billy's innings was the highlight. He played a series of elegant drives and deft late cuts (he also snicked off but didn't walk, was bowled off a back foot no ball, and dropped off a regulation catch at mid-off, but we prefer to remember the good times).
In reply, Granta opener Hales struck 50* in 29 balls, mainly via some vicious straight golf swings and pull shots. That effectively killed the game, and Granta chased the full total in just 8.2 overs. Kara (1/36) and Jordan (1/17) both took consolation scalps, meaning Remnants finished 8-wicket losers.
