Churchill College vs. Remnants

Thursday, May 10, 2001
Churchill College

Churchill College (98/5; 20 overs)
lost to
Remnants (99/2; 14.5 overs)
by 8 wickets.

After the hiccup of the Coton game, things were back to the early season norm, with the opposition (Churchill this time) being kept below the century. Les Collings (0/11) and Daniel Mortlock (1/11) allowed just 22 runs off the first 8 overs, and then Phil Watson turned the screws with 3/16 as Churchill (complete with drunk commentator-batsman ``Scouse'') struggled to score off more than one ball an over.

The pattern set up by last week's games looked set to be repeated when we lost two early wickets in three balls, but then Nick Clarke (51*) and Phil Marshall (21* with Ev Fox running) saw us home with consumate ease.
