Remnants vs. The Blue Ball

May 30, 1984
Parker's Piece

The Blue Ball (64/2 in 20 six-ball overs)
lost to
Remnants (70/0 in 5 six-ball overs)
by 10 wickets.

Report by Daniel Mortlock:

Having restricted The Blue Ball to a rather paltry total, their efforts were made to look even worse as the Remnants opening pair of Clarke Brunt (47*) and Martin Law (22*) smashed runs at will. The highlight was a seven-ball stretch in which Clark hit 34 runs, including 26 from a single over (with 2 fours and 3 sixes). The winning runs were hit off the last ball of the 5th (six-ball) over, meaning we'd won with 90 balls to spare, easily a club record for a standard evening game.
